In these non-traditional roles, your focus will be more on model enhancement, rather than model building, using the appropriate software (Python, VBA, R. etc.) in order to achieve successful results.

The work you will be involved in will be diverse and as varied as knowing how to move data to the cloud, or knowing the best place to move or setup a new server.

For this reason, these roles would really suit someone who enjoys the systems side of the actuarial world, who enjoys coming up with different solutions that speed up or improve data processes and who may already have experience in a similar position.

Crucial, then, is an understanding of and ability to apply modelling knowledge across various actuarial systems.
