Louis is the joint founder and Managing Director of Star Actuarial Futures. He is a part qualified actuary with technical experience in pensions and investment and experience of recruiting, developing and retaining high performing actuarial teams.

Louis shares his detailed understanding of the actuarial market with clients and candidates. In particular, he has enjoyed significant success working closely with clients to complete difficult mandates.

Biography

Louis graduated from Dundee University in 1999 with a 1st Class Masters Degree in Financial Economics. After graduating Louis worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers as a pensions and investment actuarial consultant before moving into actuarial recruitment with GAAPS in 2002. Louis quickly progressed to Head of UK Recruitment and was responsible for recruiting actuaries across the board in terms of level and field of work.

In 2009 Louis set up Star Actuarial Futures with Antony Buxton. Since then the company has grown from strength-to-strength to become one of the leading actuarial recruitment brands in the UK market.

Louis is a conference speaker on actuarial career development. Louis has been a committee member of SIAS and was also a long serving member of the Actuarial Profession's Momentum Conference organising committee which looks to fuel and energise those actuaries attending.
