Peter is a graduate of Durham University and started his career in the retirement practice at Towers Perrin (now Willis Towers Watson). He has a wealth of recruitment experience, the majority of which is in the actuarial sector. Peter joined Star Actuarial in 2012 and is one of our leading consultants specialising in life insurance and investment related roles, working closely with major life insurance provider clients.
Biography
Peter graduated from Durham University with a degree in Physics. He spent the first four years of his career as an analyst for Towers Perrin (now Willis Towers Watson) within the retirement practice.
In 2002, he went to work for a major national recruitment group on its financial services desk. In 2008, he moved to specialise in the actuarial sector, working with candidates across life, non-life and pensions, and with a client base of insurance providers, consultancies and investment banks.
He joined Star Actuarial Futures in 2012, bringing his technical expertise and range of client and candidate contacts to the growing team. Since then, Peter has taken up client management responsibilities with a number of large insurance groups and has also worked to strengthen Star's position with its banking and asset management clients.
Peter is a published author. His book, The Jolly Pilgrim, was published in 2011. His work was featured in a number of national and international publications, including two UK broadsheets. Peter has also written for The Actuarial Post and The Actuary - on actuarial career paths and a UK-visa guide for actuaries.
